It’s kinda interesting that Spencer Tunick has a last name that kinda sounds like an item of clothing but he dabbles in taking photos of crowds of naked people. He recently got a lot of buzz here in Sydney where he took photos of an installation of shitloads of naked people on the steps of the Opera House. The installation was created as part of the Mardi Gras GLB festival here. The pic below is via the Sydney Morning Herald, not Tunick himself but it gives you an idea of what to expect.

So shitloads of naked people got together, dropped their tunics and laid around or stood and posed in the early morning.

Tunick’s shot of people crammed onto a causeway in Dublin juxtaposed against a similar-ish line up of rocks. It’s the details that make the photo and all his work. It’s not just getting people to drop their clothes but getting them to line up in a particular way. Also love the real life imitates art thing when he has peeps in a museum.
